Volunteering
Shorewood Little League is a 100% volunteer organization. With over 250 boys and girls in the Shorewood Little League program, your child's baseball experience can only be enhanced by our community working together. Who Can Volunteer? Anyone can apply to become a volunteer. Whatever talents or skills you have, we can use them! Across the country, volunteers are grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, retirees, community leaders, former Little Leaguers, friends, neighbors, and more. Any community member who wishes to become a volunteer may apply. All parents of children involved in Shorewood Little League Baseball are strongly encouraged to volunteer. As a parent, volunteer, you have the opportunity to spend quality time with your child in a safe, fun-filled environment. Oftentimes, parent and child social lives parallel each other. Volunteering allows your life and your child's life to intersect on common ground, with shared interests and goals. On rare occasions, Little League, through District Administrators and your local Board of Directors, may deny individuals the privilege of volunteering for reasons, past or present, that may be detrimental to the positive development of young people, other volunteers, and/or Little League International. When you apply to become a volunteer, you give the local Little League organization the right to conduct necessary background checks. How Do I Become A Volunteer? Parents, take a minute to fill out the volunteer form while registering your child. If you are not a parent and would like to volunteer, take a minute to fill out the volunteer application form available here , and mail it to Shorewood Little League, 4230 N. Oakland Avenue #112, Shorewood, WI 53211. What areas need help? We are currently looking for Team Managers (Head Coaches), Assistant Coaches, Team Parents, Coodinators for Picture Day, National Little League Night at Miller Park (Brewer Game & Tailgate), and End of Season Celebration, Concession Stand Workers (2 game minimum), Game Set-up & Announcers (2 game minimum), and webmaster. Details for all volunteer positions are listed in the Volunteering Positions and Responsibilities. To ensure a positive, safe experience for our children, Little League International requires all local Little Leagues to conduct background checks on managers, coaches, board of directors members and any other persons, volunteers or hired workers, who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with, players or teams. Individuals are also required to complete and submit a Little League Volunteer Application to their local league. NOTE - Those individuals failing to make good on volunteer commitments affect everyone in our organization. If you keep your commitment - then everyone works together, everything gets accomplished, and everyone has fun! Thank you in advance for all your time, support and assistance in making our Shorewood Little League a great experience for the kids and their families in our community!
